Fact-Checking Policy
Our fact-checking process is designed for parenting coverage where dates, names, numbers, quotes, health guidance and family safety details must be handled carefully.
Names, dates and numbers
Editors verify names, titles, publication dates, statistics, event dates and quoted figures against primary sources whenever available. If a number comes from a study, survey or public agency, we identify the source and avoid presenting it beyond what the evidence supports.
Multiple-source confirmation
Claims that may affect a family decision are checked against more than one reliable source or are attributed clearly to the person or organization making the claim.
Archived and removed pages
When we rely on older pages, archived pages or removed material, we identify the context and avoid treating outdated guidance as current advice. Historical references are used to explain the development of a subject, not to replace current information.
Social media and screenshots
Social posts, screenshots and viral claims are checked for origin, date, account identity and context. We do not treat a screenshot as sufficient evidence when the claim requires stronger confirmation.
Reader feedback
Readers can send factual corrections to contact@parents-to-parents.org. Editors review the note, check the article and update the page when a correction is warranted.
